INTERNET GHETTO
After some years of ig admiration, I met up with @internetghetto to set scenes n' chase aesthetics.
After writing about the Silvia sitch in Oz early last year I floated it to Luke - @internetghetto, for his ten cents.
The car in that write-up was first owned in Oz by a police officer from Christie's Beach.
For a photoshoot featuring Luke's machine it made sense to head down the road from the cop-shop and make some magic in the projects.
Luke grew up on the mid coast and has watched its rapid gentrification. As we pulled up to take photos his first words;
"yeah it was definitely a lot more hectic here in like 2006."
"You gotta watch that @BOBSTA video where he does a walkaround."
Overall the mid coasts reputation for being rougher, containing the likes of unwanted gronks is wrapping up, (but still present). In a housing crisis the chance to live closer to the coast is hot product. Scenes like this housing trust will eventually change - the same way you won't see headz sliding Japanese beer cans at the Hackham indusso.
So with that out the way here's the INTERNET GHETTO write-up.
"What happened to the Work Meisters?"
Liked by Ricky - his car HERE
"Felt is was time for a change, R33 wheels just look so sick. Plus I got defected."
"Hard to get a hold of thirty3wheels?"
"Yeah, but sometimes things fall off a truck ya know?"
"What else has changed?"
"Ah to get it over the pits I pulled the Bride out, forgot how comfy the stock seats are."
It's important to be strapped in & safe.
"Any future plans for it?"
"End goal is big sub in the boot with xbox and tv and midnight club"
"And dope LED lights"
"Maybe retire the ol'surfboard on the boot for a different look."
As we set up for photos there was in incredible sense of serenity that washed over as the sun burned us. It was peaceful.
A tatted head cruised past us on an e-scooter, unfazed. Electrification - the future is now I guess.
But deep down we know conceptually it's for the better...
Some of these cars are going to become garage queens, but only if you let em.
And some of you are going to become emotional about how Australia is changing. That makes you vulnerable to the wrong kinda agendas.
We are driving towards some trying-times and that's what we'll have to do. Try harder where we can.
So check in on your mates, have conversations, patiently educate, and where you can - give people the time.
While it may not seem like it, things are going to get better.
Thank you for reading Corner Stories.
