Street Sighting ~ Chrysler Valiant (wagon)

Preface: Got too drunk after finding more drinks and never finished this.

Guzzo lean.

I can confidently say that my fuel for writing about the cars I see is beginning to run low. But not empty.

Tonight I can't imagine anything worse than sitting at my computer and writing about some family guzzler catching rays on the side of the road, but here I am. (Spoiled of me, but I was feelin blue about the ex missus)

Here because, I think back to pulling over for some respite, having a stroll and for a moment being happy. If it makes me smile, who knows someone else might get a kick.

So I raise this shitty cider I pinched from my brother to the big green wagon on your screen. Keep on clockin it lad.

I took these pics right in the middle of the fuel crisis with petrol hitting a bit over 2-dollar-fitty a litre.

It really did have me grinning to see the Oz owned fuel rep sticker. It was also a reminder that people should support local radio stations by slapping on a sticker and giving a graphic designer some work. EV's are boring but we can at least make them advertisements for the things that facilitate culture. So shoutout eighty8point7 'Adelaides Coast FM' which I'm sure is backed by a bunch of solid SA sponsors & heads. Continuing with stickers...

You might notice the Fat Pizza tee in the reflection, well later in the day I took a lunch break at Doras Yiros and the owner loved it so much that when I paid cash he threw in free Baklava.

Which turned out to be a life line because I think the girl I'd seen earlier in the week gave me strep.

Honestly I can't believe someone pays me to drive around for 8 hours on a Saturday.

Let alone wearing a Fat Pizza tee in a Commodore with bold tyres.

Getting back to the personality clues of the Val;

Thematic beach towel, lunch slowly getting up to temp.

Guttered I cut off the Motorist's Prayer, definitely should be saying this as I try get my wagon to start up before uni.

Admired the choke.

Still haven't owned a car with a manual one. I remember my old man hunched forward in his Merc 300D squinting to check the choke light before trying to spin up the diesel donk. Or the ridiculous order of trying to get my brothers Ford Econovan to fire only for us to push start it. In fact, I reckon he had to push start it every time for the first year he owned it.

It looked pretty cool. Good amounta chrome, I rated how the sunvisor complimented the roof spoiler.

It's speccy how the rear arches pop a bit with the lines and the exhaust dumps out the corner, not to mention the optical appearance of the tail lights. Cars are art. Wheels are fashion. Not all fashion has to be outside the box, sometimes you want the cowboy in the movie to look like a cowboy.

After buying four cars since my first four-door-vehicle, I bought another, only to do this the second I got it on the road. It now has a mattress innit, in true optimistic young fella spirit. I will keep writing about cars, and try my best to put out one a week. I never stopped taking photos.

As always, thanks for visiting the corner.
