INTERNET GHETTO
After some years of ig admiration, I met up with @internetghetto to set scenes n' chase aesthetics.
In 25’ I wrote about the Silvia sitch in Oz floating it to Luke - @internetghetto, for his ten cents.
The car in that write-up was first owned in Oz by a Christies beach police officer.
So for a shoot staring Luke's machine it made sense to head down the road, past the cop-shop and make some magic in the projects.
Luke grew up on the mid coast and has watched its rapid gentrification.
"yeah it was definitely a lot more hectic here in like 2006."
"You gotta watch that @BOBSTA video where he does a walkaround."
Overall the mid coasts reputation for being a gronk stomping ground is shifting, (but still present). In a housing crisis the chance to live closer to the coast is hot product. Scenes like this housing trust will eventually change - the same way you won't see headz sliding Jap beer cans around the Hackham indusso.
"What happened to the Work Meisters?"
Liked by Ricky - his car HERE
"Felt is was time for a change, R33 wheels just look so sick. Plus I got defected."
Rthirty3 wheels can be hard to come by…
But sometimes things fall off a truck ya know.
"What else has changed?"
(to get it over the pits)
"Pulled the Bride out, forgot how comfy the stock seats are."
I mean it is important to be strapped in & safe.
"Future plans?"
"End goal is big sub in the boot with xbox and tv and midnight club"
"And dope LED lights"
"Maybe retire the ol'surfboard on the boot for a different look."
As we set up for photos there was in incredible sense of serenity that washed over as the sun burned us. It was peaceful.
A tatted head cruised past us on an e-scooter, unfazed.
Electrification - the future is now..?
A separate write up on the future of cars, maintenance, wrecking em, and the environmental toll is overdue.
But it's clear some of these cars are going to become garage queens.
And some of you are going to become emotional about how Australia is changing. Which makes you vulnerable to the wrong kind of agendas.
Being pro-intellectualism doesn't mean you aren't for common sense, having fun and supporting culture. It's simply having a better understanding of something. Which right now would go a long way.
We are driving towards some trying-times, which is what will have to happen. A time to try harder.
So check in on your mates, have conversations, patiently educate, and where you can - give people the time.
Thank you for reading Corner Stories.
