Street Sighting ~ Mercedes Kompressor (Efitty5)

V-eight compressed air - at least that's how I read it. I think this was around the last time /// AMG // kinda meant something.   Fun fact; before she bought her Toyota my girlfriend drove her Nan's Kompressor . Solid car.

Street Sighting ~ Toyota Supra

Image
The new kid on the block. Recently I spotted this mark4 Supra parked around the corner from my parents house. I intended to blog it but just got too busy. It's now a few ( three or four ) weeks later and I've seen the car change sides of the street a few times. Safe to say its the new kid on the block. If you're reading this blog I'm assuming your car culture acumen is up to scratch & for the most part this Supra really doesn't do much for you. So just relax hero. Yeah it's massive, overpriced, this ones auto and probably NA but honestly who gives a fuck. The car doesn't look like a Toyota . And yet it at the same time doesn't look like anything else. So why do I give it a pass? Well I think the potential of Supra remains untapped. There are three ways to go about ownership. Option 1  80sHERO - click the image to read a better blog post.  Option 2  It's a Toyota, and therefore reliable. Give the car a decent sound setup and try get it to a bi...

Silvia sitch in Oz

So before I go off on a tangent let me outline the point of this write up. The Nissan Silvia is very obviously one of the most iconic coupes ever made. Yet somehow the first iteration ( not counting the gazelle ) was not sold in Australia. This means every S13 Silvia in Aus was imported from Japan. Don't get me wrong we actually imported a fair few but they were destined for tuner/drift or motorsport applications. As a result finding a fairly mint S13 in Aus is pretty tricky. The S14 was sold in Aus but in low numbers, and considering the desirability of these, like the S13 chances of seeing one stock is also low. Despite this I still try to seek them out. Like this one I saw HERE The owner bought this car new, changed nothing and has only put a bit over a hundred thousand kilometres on it. It is essentially a survivor car. But this story doesn't really take place for an S13, as after all they had a life in Japan. At seven am over the Easter weekend my mate sent me a Gum...

The Easter Brumby - down the rabbit hole

Image
Over Easter I traveled to Kangaroo Island with my missus and parents to spend some time on the family block. I also gave myself a second agenda - find some cool rusty Toyota's for my mate. I failed. KI if you actually pay attention is dominated by Subaru's . I myself was getting about in my Mum's foz. They are everywhere. Forester's and Outback's dominate the island. More so than utes. It surprised me. I even crossed paths with the early boxers I love. A new blue oval reigned supreme as the age of Falcon Farmers seemed to be no more. At one point I was getting fuel at a servo in Kingscote and decided to see what in the way of literature was on offer. The usual options, Street Machine , Unique Cars etc. But it was VW Magazine that would catch my eye.  In the midst of giving my Subaru a birthday ( 40th birthday ) I thought maybe a look at what Porsche and V-dub owners were doing would be beneficial. Plus a feature on the Pervis Eureka is hard to walk past whe...
